Industry veteran, and former privacy leader at Yahoo! and Oath, will lead privacy practice.
New York, NY (August 14, 2018) – Leading location intelligence and consumer insights company, Cuebiq, announced today that Shane Wiley has joined the company as their Chief Privacy Officer.
In his new role, Wiley will help further Cuebiq’s commitment to their “gold standard” of privacy, including applying GDPR-like framework for user information and consent across all app partnerships. Shane will also spearhead Cuebiq’s privacy technology project, leveraging blockchain to create an open data marketplace to bring economic value not just to data companies and their clients, but to end users as well.

Wiley most recently was Vice President of Privacy at Oath leading privacy and technical integration across 50 well-known consumer brands, such as Yahoo, AOL, Tumblr, Huffington Post, and Flickr, and driving their global GDPR compliance efforts. In his role as Privacy and Data Governance lead at Yahoo, his team supported over 1.4 billion users across hundreds of products, services and platforms in over 80 markets in 40+languages operating across PC, mobile devices and cutting-edge consumer electronics.
With almost 30 years of experience in software engineering, product management and policy, Wiley possesses deep knowledge of both regulatory and business issues related to privacy and privacy technology specifically. He was a key player in developing the AdChoices program with the Network Advertising Initiative and the IAB EU, which set standards for industry participants to display the AdChoices icon billions of times a day in a consistent and technically feasible manner.
Mr. Wiley received his undergraduate education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – B.S. Aerospace Engineering and is a Certified International Privacy Professional.
